1. Make sure to include information on your company and what report you are analyzing. What market are they in? What time period are you analyzing? What are your company’s key performance indicators for the month and year? (10 points)
2. How does the subject hotel perform compared to various industry segments nearby?
Do not include any comp set analysis here but include all other industry segments (10 points)
3. Provide a summary of what is occurring in the market in terms of construction. (5 points)
4. How does the subject hotel perform compared to the comp set? Has this performance changed over time? Make sure to address all aspects of comparison to the comp set including percent change, index, and ranking. (20 points)
5. How does the subject hotel perform compared to the comp set by day of week? Make sure to address all key performance indicators and percent changes. (10 points)
6. Is there any question that the subject hotel has an accurate comp set? Can you speak to the quality of the comp set? (5 points)
7. Pretend that you have just taken over as the Regional Manager responsible for this hotel and you are preparing to meet with the General Manager. Make a list of items to discuss, including: (20 points)
a. What issues need to be investigated based on the analysis you just did?
b. What are 3 possible strategies that should be considered based on opportunities you found based on your analysis?
c. If you could only decide on one strategy from the ones you listed what would it be and why?
(Keep in mind that you can only make suggestions based on what your analysis andSTAR report shows. Do not make suggestion “outside” of the information you have been given. For instance, there is no way based on the report to make suggestions on customer service quality or efficiencies so you cannot make those suggestions.)
