Above is a short description of Type I and Type II (WILL BE ATTACHED) Errors which we discussed in class last week. As you will see when you read the above document, Type I Error normally is considered to be the more serious of the two kinds of error. This is not always the case, however. It is possible to think of a situation in which it would be more serious to make a Type II Error.
This is what I want you to do for your online assignment:
1. Describe a research scenario (situation) in which committing Type I Error would be more serious than committing Type II Error.
2. Describe a research scenario (situation) in which the opposite is the case. That is, describe a situation in which committing Type II Error would be more serious than committing Type I Error.
Your research scenarios do not necessarily have to involve mass communication research; research from any field of fields will be acceptable for this assignment.
Each of your two descriptions should be about one page long (Typed, Double-Spaced).

Below is a longer discussion of Type I and Type II Errors. (WILL BE ATTACHED) This discussion isn’t necessary to complete the above assignment, but it provides a more full analysis of what these two kinds of errors are all about.
