Analyzing Layoff Messages: Your company is planning to announce a series of layoffs that will affect 10 percent of your workforce. Identify your company (if you do not have an company to identify with, speak about how management would handle the circumstances) and write an analysis of the situation that addresses the following issues:
1. What are the purpose(s) that need to be attended to when planning this message? Are they to inform, persuade, convey goodwill, or maintain credibility? How might a writer accomplish these purposes? 2. What audience concerns and questions would need to be addressed to ensure positive reception of the message? 3. Are their contextual issues that may need to be considered when writing the message?

Please do a word count and post the number at the bottom of your document. a) In the body of your document, number and type the entire question, then double-space after the question and type your answer. The body of your assignment should be singlespaced with double spacing between paragraphs. b) Assignments should be typed at 12-point font. All assignments must include your name, course, assignment, and date on the right side of the first page of your assignment. Please submit your assignment as a MS Word document, Google doc, or PDF. If I am unable to open your document, then I cannot give you credit. c) Proofread your document carefully and make corrections to grammar, spelling, and punctuation. d) Preview your document before uploading to make sure it looks professional and wellorganized. 2.
