Students will be assigned to a group and given the name of a leader their group will research. Each group will gather information that helps them understand that individual, why and how he/she became a leader. Each group will also find information about the surroundings, i.e. political, economic, social/cultural, etc., situation of the time period. Answer fully each of the sections below – giving as many examples as possible. Use images and pictures to enhance the content.

1. Give a very short biography of the leader.

2. State the different types of power that the leader used. Give examples.

10. What specifically did you learn about the concept of leadership by studying this leader? What specifically about this leader attracts you to that person, i.e. power base, personal traits, themes and appeals used, what that person might do for his/her followers or constituents, any other factors?

– Develop a PowerPoint presentation, about 35 slides, no more than 40, which you will post to the course.

– Prepare an outline and bibliography; add this at the end of the PowerPoint Presentation, in slide format.
