Introduction 
In order to undertake research, you need to be able to distinguish the differences between three research methods. Your text provides a framework to do so. 
 
Activity Instructions 
Locate a journal article related to Homeland Security that reports qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research. Examine the introduction to the article and, using the hook-and-eye method illustrated in the text; identify the flow of ideas from sentence to sentence and from paragraph to paragraph and any deficiencies. 
 
Writing Requirements (APA format) 
 
•2-3 pages (approx. 300 words per page), not including title page or references page 
•1-inch margins 
•Double spaced 
•12-point Times New Roman font 
•Title page with topic and name of student 
•References page (minimum of 1 resource)
