Paper instructions:
Students will complete an individual mind map/drawing to illustrate/demonstrate synthesis
of course concepts by relating nursing theory to experiences as a nurse and application to
practice. A two page summary to describe/discuss your map should be included.
• Mind map will include:
o Personal thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about the four concepts of the nursing
metaparadigm:
? Person/client
? Environment
? Health
? Nursing
o Compatibility of personal philosophy with a chosen existing theory
o Example of application to current nursing practice
• Writing expectations include: APA format for a minimum of 2 citations and references,
cover page, running header, headings, and reference page.
