1) Prior to 2000, remuneration committees in Australia were not common. Whereas recently the incidence of remuneration committees in listed public companies in Australia has increased significantly. What explains the increase in adoption in Australia? Do remuneration committees add value to the organization? —- Approximately 700 words
2) For the two companies your group was allocated, provide a summary of the short term and long term salary and performance benchmarks for the executives of the companies over the period June 30 2008 to June 30 2013. Comment on the changes in the basis of remuneration and the nature of the disclosure. Give your opinion as to whether i) the performance benchmarks for remuneration are clear and appropriate and ii) the extent to which remuneration and performance are linked. –
