Watch a short clip from primetime TV and count the acts of violence – 5 minutes or so. The clip can be from YouTube, a TV website or from your favorite show, but

record it so you can watch it more than once. If you only watch shows that have no violence at all, you might want to extend your definition of violence to include

aggression.

Now, watch the same clip and note the context of the violent acts, based on the definition of context in this week’s lesson. What kind of difference do you see in the

acts of violence now? Does the context of the act change its level of violence, or increase the number of instances you counted?
