After conducting a careful analysis, Creon and Saul had many similarities and differences. One of the main differences that distinguishes Creon is that she aligned with his morals as she wanted to break away from the traditional

“cult of domesticity” in which women had limited rights. Creon that she is acting outside of God’s law and because of this immoral oppression against women during that era. Secondly, her brother valiantly fought for his country in

the war, but was never honored, which frustrated her notions about loyalty, morality, and God. Antigone’s spirit exemplifies her passion and fury as she goes against Creon (Antigone 362). Creon is a sexist, whereas Saul is more

immature in a sense he has no idea how to help his people. But he is more pious than Saul as he controls himself through self-control. This is depicted as he states, “No woman shall seduce us. If we must lose, Let’s lose to a

man, at least. Is a woman stronger than we?” This is perfect to why he is more pious than King Saul because of his ability to have self-control (Antigone 363).
Creon and King Saul are same that they are impulsive. One difference is the fact that King Saul in Samuel I is very strict personality who restricts Israelites from eating anyone.Both Creon and King Saul I are sinners as they

both acted outside God’s law. Saul was also very impulsive because he would make sound judgments right away as portrayed in the biblical text.This is depicted as Saul states, “O Lord God of Israel, why have you not answered

your servant this day?” Saul was also very rebellious considering he was very pious and as a king, which is why they are also different (Anderson 22) Creon was forced to be impulsive to help his people, whereas King Saul is

immature because he fails to understand the consequence of his sin.
