•If a season has teams that played a different numbers of games, take an average of  the number of games played (N) for that year, by

averaging all the games played in  that season.
•Step-by-step guide to calculating the Noll-Scully Competitive Balance.
2.   Written Explanation (Submit your Microsoft Word document with your written explanations).
a.   For the NCAA FBS calculate the average Noll-Scully over the 2002-2013 seasons. (10  points)
b.   Compare that with the results presented in The Wages of Wins for (American) football:  Do you think the average is similar or different to the NFL and AFL? (10

points)
c. Based on your results, do you agree with Berri, Schmidt and Brook as to why leagues  have similar levels of competitive balance? Why or why not? (30 points)
