The Joint Commission has established polices regarding the reporting of sentinel events by health care organizations.  Visit The Joint Commission’s website

Program for two different types of organizations (e.g. ambulatory health care, long-term health care, hospitals, etc.).  Prepare a composition that discusses the

•General requirements of The Joint Commission’s Sentinel Event policy
•The role of The Joint Commission in ensuring patient safety
•The process of conducting a root cause analysis
•Comparisons and contrasts on some of the organization-specific sentinel event examples that are subject to review by the Joint Commission between two different health

care organizations (e.g. differences between an ambulatory health care and a hospital).
•The role and responsibilities of the risk management function in ensuring organizational compliance with The Joint Commission’s Sentinel Event policy
