Preschool observation

Assignment 2: Preschool observation (CD 101) AnahitaKhademAllahabadi Child’s name: Bryson Age: 3 Years and five months Date of Observation: November 6, 2013 Observation Site: New Generation Learning Center (NGLC) Bryson’s Observation My observation is in preschool stage. New Generation Learning Center is in Mira Mesa an educational based childcare facility serving children ages six weeks to 7 years. I went to the NGLC and choose the Bryson as my case for doing observation. Bryson is a 3 years and 5 months, and his height is 2 ½ feet tall and his weight is about between 30lb to 35lb. Bryson has oval face with brown eyes, White skin and brown hair. Bryson is a serious and active boy in this daycare. When I got there, he was sleeping. But, when he heard stranger’s voice he woke up. I just waited for other children to wake up and can record his action and behavior with other children. When he woke up, he went to the restroom by himself and then, he went to the playroom . He felt the daycare is like his home because he knew exactly each location at daycare. Bryson was in book area with his friend and he looked at the books .He picked up one book and teacher asked them question? “Do you know what the name of this animal is?” when Bryson and his friend answered the question correctly the teacher smiled at them and encouraged them by clapping his hands. Bryson sat next to the teacher and asked the teacher “can you play with me to make puzzle”. During puzzle making Bryson was able to find a matching pair by grabbing a puzzle piece with the right hand first. At the end, he showed puzzle to the teacher and was able to get teacher’s attention. And teacher told his” good job”. Bryson during the play time painted a piece of paper with paint brushes and tried to mix different colors. While he was Painting with brush, he drop the paint brush on the floor and then immediately he grabbed the paint brush and tried to clean the brush with his hands. After that he went to the next table started cutting paper. Motor Skills: Loading…Khadem 2 According to physical child development theories which during early child hood children become slimmer at the lower body lengthens and body fat turn to muscle. Bryson seems to be growly normally as per his age. Bryson showed good fine motor skills .He is able to handle the scissors and cut the papers, hold the paint brush and painting the paper, making puzzles, purring milk into a cup. “Many Fine Motor skills involve two hands and thus two side of the brain” (Berger, 235). His gross motor skill also looks good. He was able to pedal a tricycle, kick and throw a ball, Bryson’s leg, hand and eye coordination also seems typical growth and development chart as he could kick the ball. He is using his body and figure control as well as himself expression. He turned on the TV and watched it. He asked a teacher to give him another short to change it. He liked to fix and repair anything that needs to repair. He fixed the door of the toy oven that was in the playroom. Then, he asked the teacher, if anything at daycare needs to repair he can bring his tools bag and fix it. Also, he knew how to work with TV such as turning on or off TV, changing the channel. He liked to make something interesting and different those other children’s logos.
