Introduction to Hypothesis Testing

Statistical Hypothesis Testing is a very important branch of Statistical Inference.
A statistical hypothesis will be a hypothesis about the population distribution. As the term suggests, one wishes to decide whether or not some hypothesis that has been formulated is correct. The choice there lies between two decisions :
Acceptance or Rejection of the hypothesis.
Then a decision procedure for such a problem is called a Test of Hypothesis.
This decision is generally taken on the basis of a random sample drawn from a population.
