GROUP A:
Plato’s Metaphysics distinguishes from what is truly real and what is just an object of sensory experience. He brings together the idea that what is truly real in life are ideas that are ageless and unchanging, for example beauty. Beauty is a form that is frozen in time, therefore is has a greater reality. I tend to view the world in an illusion or a changing world. There have been only a certain amount of times where I have left the cave of illusion to get a greater experience of reality. There is one specific time I remember leaving this cave. This experience came with a lot of questioning and observing objects and wondering if they were real. Nothing felt real, not the objects I would touch or the objects I would see. Instead of thinking about these objects as physical forms I thought about them as theories.
GROUP B:
Agreeing with Aristotle’s view that through practice, dedication, and moderation,
happiness is possible to accomplish. Every human, especially those striving to be successful, should possess the trait of being confident. Just like everything else in life, too much confidence can be destructive. An overly confident individual would lose all hope, devotion, and dedication to reach a goal when failure approaches or seems near. Confident people will most probably tend to blame someone else for their failure instead of learning from their mistakes which can be harmful in the future, due to lack of acceptance. Everyone experiences failure at a point in their life, but should look at it as experience and knowledge instead of looking at it as motivation. On the other hand, one lacking confidence will be reluctant or unwilling to take any risks. Without any risks, accomplishment is not possible. Confidence can limit one from reaching their ultimate potential. With a significant and balanced amount of confidence and willingness to take risk, will be the road to happiness and success. Confident people tend to be more wealthy and happy.
GROUP C :
One of the Four Noble Truths that stood out to me most was the first rule, there is suffering. No one lives a life without suffering because there will always be at least one time in your life where you don’t receive what you want or think you deserve. For example, some may suffer from lack of money, even though they put their all into their work. Sometimes life just doesn’t pay off. Although all may suffer, there is a way to live your life to the fullest, and try to ignore or end the suffering. This is usually possible with a change in attitude and a different course of actions. This leads us to the Eightfold Path. In life you can look at every scenario in the right or wrong view. The first rule of the eightfold path is having the right view. If you could gravitate towards the right view in all aspects of your life you can essentially eliminate suffering. Even when you feel you are facing the worst of times, looking in the right view can help you get through that time. I like to live my life based onthis eight view. I tend to look at the good in everything and making everything positive. If I do not I can’t achieve happiness in life and that what we all want; the highest excellence. Sometimes when it is hard to follow the right view, it is helpful to stop what you are doing and find a time and place to meditate. It will only relax you and help you view your direction in life the right way.
