Application Software

It is set of programs developed to carry out complete operations for a specific purpose. For example “Railway Reservation Software” etc. The existence of this type of software only adds extra utility to the computer system, it does not affect its basic functioning.

-Word Processing-It means typing data into the computer. We have many word processing software which helps in editing letters and documents by checking for grammatical and spelling errors.
-Desktop Publishing-The desktop publishing software includes features that help us to produce professional looking brochures, notices etc.
-Educational/Entertainment software-Educational software are designed to help individual learners on specific topics. Computer-aided learning (CAL) helps in teaching languages; strengthen users’ maths skills, etc. These types of softwares are generally interactive. Students can simulate experiments that are not possible in a class room.
Entertainment software are used to play chess, cards, solve lystery etc., on computers. The lost familiar entertainment software is the games software.
