Program Memo
Students will submit a short description of a selected program, indicating the problem to be addressed by the intervention, the intended beneficiaries, or targets of the program, the intended benefits, and the causal model/program theory underlying the program. This memo is a preliminary step in writing the final design paper.
Background – The background section must provide the evaluation and what is was meant to achieve. The program should be described and the depth of description should assume that the reader is a novice and needs to understand the program. In general in good writing it is important that you do not assume that everybody will know about the program or your subject area. Do not leave things out but at the same time you should not burden the reader with unnecessary or irrelevant details.
