Research various performance management systems that are used or could be used by your chosen type of health care organization. As you conduct your research, keep in mind the broad definition of a performance management system. A comprehensive system used by an organization to ensure that the organization achieves its goals and improves its performance. A performance management system will be the overarching system that encompass both risk management and quality management.
Various activities comprise a performance management system and may include identifying legal, regulatory, or accreditation requirements, setting goals, assigning accountability, monitoring performance, making adjustments, providing feedback and evaluating progress and communicating results.
