The following essay will discuss the work of the two behavioural psychologists B.F Skinner and Harry F Harlow. It will outline their research studies and explore the similarities and differences in their work and the use of non-human animals in their experiments. Both scientists were born around the turn of the 1900s and they graduated with their PhDs within a year of each other. They were both interested in studying the behaviour of animals and they both liked to think that this behaviour could be extrapolated to humans but of course they could never be entirely sure of that. They were both pioneers in behaviourism as they started some of the most cutting-edge research of all time. At the time this research was questioned by some but the results of their studies are still applied in todays society.
