I was recently dealing with the incoming mail here at Chums and therefore had to ensure that I adhered to the companys security procedures for handling the mail and packages. The purpose for security procedure for handling mail and packages is because mail that comes into the office is likely to have confidential information included. For example, details of families that should only be seen by Chums staff (who have all signed confidentiality agreements), professionals who we are to keep into contact with regarding the family (who are also bound by confidentiality agreements) and the families themselves. Also, mail may contain personal information about employees/volunteers.
