Introduction
Human mind has always been an intriguing subject of discussion among different academics. This essay aims to discuss psychological distresses through taking an overview of psychodynamic and person-centred approach. The important issues of Psychodynamic such as human basic instincts, unconscious mind, defence mechanism and attachment theory are explained here and the essay goes on to review central aspects of the person-centred model such as, the idea of self-actualization, core conditions and conditions of worth. Finally the similarities and differences of the two approaches are discussed and explained, and a summary of the models is presented in the conclusion.
