Safer care is dependent on many factors, not simply employing staff with the right attitude, but ensuring new care workers can ensure that unacceptable care in their workplace doesnt occur. Safer care addresses all aspects of service users needs, physical, emotional and psychological, whilst promoting independence, dignity and respect. New care workers need to be adequately trained supported and managed. Have relevant information about their service user, offer care that is likely to work and not be harmful. Aware of guidelines to follow and know who to turn to if they are faced with difficulties. Care workers also have a duty to acknowledge when they are not suitably trained and take steps to rectify this. I will be focusing on some common dilemmas and difficulties in care settings, why poor-quality, unsafe and even abusive care can occur. Explaining why keeping records is important…(short extract)
