From what is observed and learnt from the study material Making Social Lives DVD and Learning companion 1 about City Road we see how people benefit and lose and how they are in some way affected by both of these by living there. The street that will be used to make comparison and to outline how people benefit and how people lose in this area is Regent Road, this is because it is affected also by both but has similarities and differences from City Road.

City Road has a very different atmosphere both day and night and Lloyd Robson (Making social lives, 2009, OU) speaks of this in much detail. We can see that City Road has many shops from Newsagents, Restaurants, Cafes, Tescos, and Clothes shops. The smaller shops and newsagents are affected and people lose because of the new build Tesco however this is different from Regent Road as it does not have any main food shops therefore other…(short extract)
