What forms of economic or political change are associated with globalisation?

Globalisation is a difficult concept to define, Heywood (1993) describes it as a slippery and elusive concept  in relation to the difficulty that one experiences when trying to order or categorize the component parts of it. Despite a long history of concepts of globalness, it is only since the 1980s that the word globalisation has been used in sociological terms in reference to the changed, and ever increasing ease of movement of people, goods, information, and money on a global scale (Aart Scholte, 2005)….(short extract)
