I will be comparing the BACP Code of Ethics to The Code of Ethics in Social Work.
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) guidelines for counselling skills in the workplace is a guideline or framework to help and advise us and ensures that a level of professionalism is associated with the service and reassures potential clients and the general public of service standards. This framework is needed as a guideline and a reference point for all professional counsellors and ensures that a standard is maintained.
Although accreditation is not yet compulsory, the ethical framework outlines standards of training and supervision required by those complying with the BACP framework. These guidelines are there to protect both clients and counsellors….(short extract)
