Heidensohn is a Social Policy Professor who encourages students to search for the truth about why women commit crime. Heidensohn recognised that the topic of women and crime was an under researched subject. Heidensohn took it upon herself to introduce people to this topic by giving an insight and an understanding into why women commit crimes.
In the nursery rhyme little girls are referred to as sugar and spice and all things nice where as the boys are snaps and snails and puppy dogs tails. Heidensohn believes this is a prime example how from an early age this outlook is embedded into us on how men and women should be which is enforced by society.
