Position paper ( correlation between video games and individual’s behavior. If violent video games have any influence in a person’s decision to be violent)
The final project for this course is the creation of a Position Paper. The purpose of this assignment is for you to explore one topic area in depth, learning about both sides of a controversial issue while clarifying your own values and beliefs. Please note: This paper will not be graded on the basis of your position held. Rather, the paper will be judged in terms of the thoughtfulness put into the paper, the amount and quality of information learned from researching the issue, critical thinking regarding the issue, and effort put into the paper. The final product represents an authentic demonstration competency, because students will integrate their own values and beliefs into their research

The paper should include the following points • Includes a title page and references page

• Includes headings that identify each of the various views on the topic you have chosen (pro and con)

• Each point, both those gleaned from research and your own opinions, should be supported by critical thinking and research

• Your paper should be broken down into three separately labeled parts:

• Part 1: Discuss the reasons why you hold this position on your topic, stating pertinent facts that you are aware of, relating parental teachings, life experiences, or social forces that have shaped your values and beliefs. No research for additional facts or supporting evidence is to be done at this time.

• Part 2: Write a critical analysis of the commonly held positions on your chosen issue using research to support your ideas. Provide a brief overview of the major points and facts for each side of the argument. Make sure you include a discussion of all points made for arguments that counter your own, as well as arguments that support your side of the issue. Critique the arguments and facts from both sides of the issue. Acknowledge which arguments are convincing on both sides of the issue and why. Refute arguments that you feel are inconsistent or illogical.

• Part 3: Reconsider your position in light of new facts and insights discussed in your paper.
