Gender mental activity plays determine how people make clothes purchasing decision based on price. This assignment presents a method for data collection as well as the instrument for data collection.
The research question which the paper attempts to answer at the end is; does gender mental activity affect the prices of clothes belonging to such gender? And if it is true gender is a determining factor in clothes pricing, to what extent is gender considered in developing the price of a given clothes belonging to a particular gender? The research will test the hypothesis; H0: There is a relationship between gender mental activity and clothes price against, and H1: There is no relationship between gender mental activity and garments price. The expectation of the research is to accept the null hypothesis which holds that there is a relationship between gender activity and the clothes price. These are similar findings revealed by Mortimer and Clarke (2011) that there is a relationship between gender influence and the pricing of attire. In this sense, gender on pricing is a determiner of other shopping parameters.

The researchers will use a sample of six participants including three men and three women. The sample participants will be working people who go shopping for clothes regularly. Both married and single participants aged below 40 years will have a chance to participate in the exercise. The research will use a quantitative research method with a descriptive design. The major findings are that gender activity influences clothes price. These results relate to the study because they answer the research question and the null hypothesis that the researchers anticipate to proof. The study aimed at investigating whether there is a relationship between gender activity and the pricing of clothes. The mental activities between male and female have an influence the price fixing of the outfits for the different genders.
The research project follows a quantitative research method. The study will also use a descriptive design. Harwell (2011) describes a quantitative research method as one that uses instruments such as tests, surveys, interviews questions, and rely on the probability there for testing the statistical hypothesis corresponding to the research questions of interest. Creswell (2003) says that a quantitative research method uses experimental designs like actual experiments. It also uses non-experimental designs like surveys. The current research is using a non-experimental design that will involve the use of interview questions to collect information from the participants. Therefore, a quantitative research method is the most suitable for the project. It will help the researchers is developing knowledge of the hypothesis and research question by collecting data using a predetermined instrument to yield statistical data. In this case, the researchers will be able to rate the ratings of behaviors in making clothing purchasing decisions by different genders.
The research project will utilize a descriptive research design. Burns and Grove (2003) describes a descriptive research design is used to present a situation while it’s happening naturally. Langen (?2009) says that a descriptive design is suitable for justifying the current practice as well as making a judgment about a particular topic or situation. A descriptive approach is the most appropriate for answering the research question since it will help the researchers in obtaining the views and opinions of participants regarding the pricing of clothes. It will assist in determining whether there is a relationship between gender mental activity and the price of clothes in stores.
Sampling is the process of picking a group of people, events, and behavior for use in conducting a study (Burns and Grove 2003). The sample for this research will involve six participants whereby both genders and aged below 40 years will participate. Three men and three women will form the selected sample. The sample participants will be working people who go shopping for clothes regularly. Both married and single participants will have a chance to participate in the exercise. The sample of the study location will at Chevy Chase Pavilion Shopping Mall in Washington DC. The participants will be recruited based on their visit to the shopping mall. The selection will be at the outfit stores for men and women within the mall. Three women entering the J. Crew Chevy Chase, a women’s clothing store will be selected. One single and two married women will participate. At the men’s store located at the Saks Fifth Avenues within the Chevy Chase Pavilion, three men entering the store will be selected. One single and two married will participate in the study. This sample is appropriate for answering the research question since a diverse selection of gender and participant characteristics has been considered. The selected participants fit well in the required criteria for answering the research question about mental masculinity activity and the pricing of clothes for different genders. The reason for being interested in the particular population of the study is because they understand current trends in clothing and are regular shoppers. They also understand the differences between the choice of clothes by women and men that define their differences in pricing.
