THE ASSIGNMENT:
Write an argumentative paper on gender role depicted in advertisement
The final assignment will require you to use all of your analytical and rhetorical powers to construct an insightful argumentative response to the research question. Choose four image advertisements of your own choice: clothing, automobiles, beverages, beer, food, electronic devices, financial institutions or mixture of any of these. Analyze the ads by looking at how gender roles are portrayed in the advertisements. Be certain to argue whether (current) advertisements embrace a new and improved approach to gender roles.
You are, therefore, being asked to answer the following question:
How do advertisers of ads of your choice represent gender roles in at least four commercials/advertisements and, in your estimation, do these representations well reflect/embrace a new and improved approach to gender roles?
