Three of the major world religions, Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam, are known as “proselytizing religions,” meaning that all three have what they consider to be a divine mandate to convert the world to their religion. All three religions have a history of violence, yet all three consider themselves to be religions of “peace.” This being the case, what do you think it might take for these religions actually to coexist in peace? Why do you think violence and religion are so closely related?
