The purpose of the reflection paper is to notice your own individual learning about and experience of using various conflict management approaches, and to reflect on this learning. Your reflections should be informed by the course readings, class discussions, and activities, and should be applied to specific examples of conflict management in your personal or professional experiences.
• Your reflections may be organized in a chronological manner, by broad thematic topics, or based on critical conflict incidents in your experiences.
• In your reflection paper, be sure to include the following:
a. Describe and apply the aspect of the theory or concept to a classroom activity or discussion, or to a conflict experience in your personal/professional life.
b. Describe what you have noticed and learned from class activities, readings, and discussions about your thoughts, feelings, and (re)actions.
• What skills did you use?
• Did you behave in the way you thought you would or were you surprised?
• How did you feel about these activities or interactions?
c. Describe what you are planning to do differently as a result of your reflections.
• How are you applying — or will you apply — what you have learned to your personal or professional life?
• How might you continue your development after this course ends?
• You are expected to incorporate at least five frameworks, theories or concepts covered in this course throughout your paper. Specific examples from class discussions and activities to support the points being made also need to be included.
• The reflection paper is required to be 9 pages. This page requirement does not include the cover page and reference list.
