Tutorial 8: Requirements Analysis
Introduction
You will learn the basics of system requirements analysis including: Upgrade options Upgrade justification
This tutorial will teach you the basics of system requirements analysis
This lesson focuses on good practices for determining upgrade options. You will learn about making decisions on the best upgrade options based on the current system problems and the required enhancements.
Exercises
1. Report Writing Headers Footers Upgrade Options techniques: Business Process Automation [BPA] Business Process Improvement [BPI] Business Process Re-engineering [BPR]

Assignment 3: System Analysis
Requirements in Analyis Phase
Understand the “As-Is” system USERS: Information Gathering techniques1 (Appendix A) Document the System problems & requirements (Business, Functional & Non-Functional) DFDs ERD2 (the data stores in the current system; data flows are the data from the data stores) Identify improvement opportunities Provide two alternative solutions (from the upgrade options) o Updgrade options: Business Process Automation (BPA) Business Process Improvement (BPI) Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) o How does the proposed solution fix the problems & fill the requirements of the new system Other factors include: time restrictions, costs, available of resources, and knowledge of staff involved in the upgrade Use a matrix to show the pros & cons(comparison of each solution) of each alternative solution (Appendix B) State the Selected (proposed) solution
o

Note: you got your requirements via the Case Studies and in class interviews with the lecture Note: You just need to identify the data stores at this stage
