1. Explain Hofstede’s model of culture as it relates to consumer behavior. Identify specific implications for fashion retailers for cultures represented by each dimension. (40 points)

2. Identify a county representing an emerging economy, a developing economy, and a developed economy. Next, provide an in-depth analysis of the opportunities and challenges for fashion retail expansion based upon the economic, political, and cultural environments in each of those countries. Include your recommendation and rationale for expansion into each country. (50 points)

3. Retailers from many countries see China and Brazil as enormous opportunities for fashion retail expansion. Yet challenges face retailers entering either
of these countries. Compare and contrast the two countries for retailers
hoping to gain a share of these potentially lucrative consumer markets. Suggest market entry strategies and provide a rationale for you recommendation. (50 points)

4. Using your own words, discuss implications for retailers based on Cleveland
and Laroche’s model for acculturation to the Global Consumer Culture. (30
points)

5. Would you recommend fashion retailers use a global or international approach for expansion to other countries? Why? (10 points)

6. Discuss the use of digital platforms for fashion retail expansion into a specific country representing an emerging, developing, and developed country. Please include your recommendation and rationale for a digital retailing strategy in each of those countries (20 points)
