Additional essays may not be answered for extra credit.
The essay section is open note and essentially, not timed.
Each essay will be screened for plagiarism. Therefore, responses must be in your own words. Plagiarists will fail the assignment.
Keep quotations to a minimum. (Less than 10% of the paper). All direct quotes MUST be properly cited. You may use either MLA or Chicago citation style.
Do not quote content from the textbook. Paraphrase it.
Highest scores will be reserved for students who are able to interpret and analyze historic events and provide specific historic examples in their essays while employing strong essay development and grammar.
Students interested in earning an “A” on the test should include a minimum of one primary source example / analysis in their essay. (Keep quotes brief and use proper citation). Primary sources can be found in the textbook and in the D2L course content. ***Including a primary source will not automatically earn the student an “A.” Entire scholarship must be of “A” quality.***
Test #1 must be completed and submitted on D2L by Monday, September 28 by 4:00 pm. We will not have class that day to allow you some time to complete the assignment.
