Article review

Each member of your team should select an article to review. The article should relate to one of the
professor’s research interests. The article may come from either popular, academic, or government
media. Your review of the article should be a 2-4 page paper that includes the following:
• Summarize the main points. Be concise. This should not exceed one paragraph. (100 +/- 10
words)
• Discuss how this article relates to your interviewed professor’s research, and why we
(society) should care about this research.
• Critique the article:
o Does the author make a valid argument/point?
o Does the author provide adequate evidence or data to support her/his point/argument?
o What does the author do well?
o What is missing from the article that would have been interesting/helpful to better
understand the author’s point/argument?
o Always provide examples for the above points.
• Do you agree with the conclusions?
o Why or why not?
• What would you do differently? What research still needs to be done? (Describe)
