Find an article in a professional journal that describes research on a new class of drugs that interests you. The journal article should have been published within the past 5 years in a peer-reviewed professional journal. (The features of a peer-reviewed journal are listed below). Library and research resources are provided in the Course Menu. Review the attached handouts before you begin the process: 1) How to Review a Journal Article, 2) Sample Format for Reviewing Journal Articles and 3) the Journal Article Review rubric, which will be used for grading.

Note that a Journal Article Review is not simply a summary of the article, but includes the following components:

1. What is the purpose of this article? (this section includes a BRIEF summary of the article)

2. Why is it important to investigate or examine the subject of the article?

3. How are the authors carrying out the task? Are their methods and comments appropriate and adequate to the task?

4. What do they claim to have found out? Are the findings clearly stated?

5. How does this advance knowledge in the field?

Your Article Review will be submitted under the assignment tab in the Week 15 Learning Module. Your paper should be a 3-4 page formally written Journal Article Review, double-spaced, 12 font, and uploaded as a Word attachment. Your references should be in APA format. You paper will automatically evaluated for plagiarism by Safe Assign when you submit it. More details about Safe Assign are provided below.

Your Journal Article Review will be evaluated for: appropriate article selection, appropriate style, a discussion of major points presented in the article, clearly and articulate writing, a well organized discussion of the major points, and your thoughts, opinions and what you learned from the article. Use the attached Journal Article Review grading rubric as a guide to make sure that you are meeting the expected requirements.
