Project description
The sample content should be appropriate for the proposed book or magazine, and the proposed book or magazine should in turn be appropriate for its publisher. The publisher can be one you have invented, or it can be an existing publisher. Your indicative publishing plan should make clear that the sample content is appropriate for the publisher and should show that you have considered the publishing process from the point of the publisher’s commissioning editor buying the book or the magazine’s editor commissioning the article through design, production and marketing to the book or magazine’s arrival in the bookshops or on the magazine stands. In your critical reflection you should consider the creative processes involved in producing the sample content(you should mention in the self-reflection the impact of one or more North London Literary Festival events). You should indicate that you understand the wider publishing context in which your book or magazine sits. You might divide the word count like this: 500, sample content; 750 publishing plan; 750,critical commentary. However the exact division is up to you and will depend on your project.
