2. We all use email multiple times per day. In fact, it’s almost impossible to imagine doing business without email. Emails are both a type of document and, through attachments and embedding, a delivery system for almost any other form of communication we want to deliver. Our concern this week is to narrow our concept of email to a particular type of business document with very specific uses. Our inclination is to choose email first when we need to convey information. But sometimes a phone call or personal conversation might be a better choice. Other times what we need to communicate is too formal, complex or sensitive, making email not the best type of document to choose (although it might still be the best delivery system – remember to keep the distinction in mind).

Think back (or click back) to the list of variables we made before( eg. business letter, flyer, or email) Variables are the different needs we want our communication to meet. Is time/speed a factor? Degree of formality? Number of recipients? Legal implications? etc.

Please make a list of the variables that are satisfied by using email to deliver our communication in a professional context. When is it appropriate to use email? (( 1 paragraph answer ))
