Part 1 (2000 words)
Section one – Describe the broad issues in cross-national perspectives and international education. Demonstrate that you are aware of them. This may include diversity of international communities, globalisation, market economies, the increased profile of finance, trade and business, comparing ‘apples and pears’, broad context of education systems.
Section two – describe and comment upon the political and cultural context of the country you are writing about. Include values, national objectives etc.
Section three – describe and comment upon the educational context. Include values, structure (to some extent) etc. Comment upon its relationship to section two above.
Section four – describe and critique the educational issue you are focusing upon. Where does this ‘sit’ in terms of the previous sections ?
Part II (1000 words)
Compare all of the above with another country. Highlight similarities and differences. Critique the two approaches.
