War in Ancient Greece

Paper instructions:

In the world of the epics, is war presented as a glorious thing to be sought out, or as an evil that must be endured?

Find two sources which present different perspectives on your question. Write a short paper which does the following:

– Explains the nature of the question,

– Explains the positions of your two chosen sources,

– Explains the reasoning and evidence your two sources use to arrive at their conclusions,

– Gives your own opinion on the question, backed up with evidence from the original epics. (Illiad and Odyssey)
