Part 1: nature and scope of the problem approx. 1000 words
Utilising a local health profile, investigate trends of alcohol or drug abuse in your selected area. Your task is to write a report to include:
• Levels of alcohol or drug abuse in a local area of your choice supported by data from local health reports, making comparisons with national and regional data, and trends.
• Review of literature investigating alcohol or drug abuse from 1 environmental and 1 social perspective.
Part 2: researching the problem approx. 1500 words
• Discuss the difference in qualitative and quantitative research
• Discuss the stages of research
• Design a simple research project that investigates an aspect of alcohol or drug abuse
• Discuss the benefits of taking an interdisciplinary approach to tackling alcohol or drug abuse.
