Victim Services

We have covered victims of homicide, sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, hate crimes, and special population victims. By completing this assignment you will identify services available to a particular type of victim. You may choose any type of victimization that you wish.

1. Begin with an Introduction with a brief description of the type of victim you have chosen. You must define the victim, convince me that you understand what it means to be victimized in this way. You may use an example from your personal life, or use a fictitious person to assist in describing the type of victimization chosen. If you choose to create a fictitious person, clearly state so in your assignment. For example, if you have been a victim of an assault you can write about your experience (although personal experience is not required). (Part 1)

The maximum length for this part of the assignment is 2 typed pages, double spaced.

2. The second part of your assignment is to find services available for type of victim you have chosen. You may search for services in any community in Canada, but all of your examples must then be from the same area. For example, if you are highlighting a service in Ottawa, all of your examples must be from that general area, as the person is not going to access one service in Ottawa and then travel to Vancouver for another service! In total you will submit 3 templates (3 services). (Part 2)
