Find an Advertisement. Find an advertisement that you believe violates advertising law or consumer protection law. The advertisement should

be relatively current (used in the last 2-3 years) and NOT have already been part of a lawsuit or other government enforcement action. Find

an ad that no one has questioned its legality.
Ad Review. Let me know the Ad before the presentation. If two groups choose the same Ad, I will give it to the first one to submit it and the

other group will need to find a different ad.
Ad Available. Find an ad that you can show in class, either by bringing a copy, showing a video of the ad, playing an audio clip, or

otherwise engaging the class by showing the ad.
Extra credit +10 points if instead of choosing an Ad, you find a law/regulation/government interpretation of a law restricting advertising

that you believe violates the Constitution and use that law and a sample ad as the basis for your paper (US Food v. US). Again, must not be

part of a current or past legal proceeding.

Write a Paper (50 Points). Write a paper with the following.

A copy of the Ad or a description of the advertisement.
A statement of introduction and any facts pertinent to the advertisement.
The relevant law.
A statement of the issue. The issue is why you selected this law. Put that into an issue statement – Example: This law violates the Lanham

Act because its demonstration on hair growth is misleading.
Analysis. This may include doing some secondary research to verify the ads claims

Present Your Findings (50 Points). Show the class your ad; explain the law, and your analysis.
