Write a four page essay in response to the prompt.
John Marshall believed the United States needed a strong national government. In your essay describe two specific events in John Marshall’s life and explain why those episodes convinced him that the United States needed a strong national government. In the second part of your essay identify four specific decisions of the Marshall Court, and explain how each case strengthened the national government?

Structure of the essay- I want the six paragraphs of your essay to appear in the following order
The first and second paragraphs of your essay should each cover an event from John Marshall’s life that motivated him to support a strong central government as opposed to strong state governments. The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth paragraphs of your essay should cover a court case that made the national government stronger relative to the state governments.

Each one of your paragraphs should include two parts, a detailed description of an event or court case, and clear analysis explaining why the event you described motivated John Marshall to support a stronger central government, or describing how the court case you chose made the national government stronger relative to the states.
