You will choose a poem from our Literature book. It does not have to be one that we have reviewed in class. Your essay will be an interpretation of the author’s message and your response to that message. You will prove your thesis by citing evidence from the text and secondary sources.
2,000 words inclusive of the annotated bibliography – short essays will not be accepted for grading. You must use 3 – 5 secondary sources from the Seminole State library databases. No block quotations of more than 2 lines (from the literary criticism article) may be used. Learn to paraphrase. Primary research is encouraged; diversity in sources will enhance your grade.
