Discuss the basic assumptions, and weaknesses of Modernization Theory? Is the term, as well as the process of globalization, a sanitized/ reincarnation of Modernization and Development Theory or not? 6. What does Edward Said mean by, “the media have become obsessed with something called “Islam,” which ———-only means two things, both of them unacceptable and impoverishing.” 7. Provide a “historical materialist” critique of globalization, and in turn, critique the historical-materialist conception of history, revolution and capitalism.
