Go to an Internet search engine such as google.com or yahoo.com and conduct a search for to find images of Mattel’s Barbie Fashion doll. You should locate at least one image each of an original Barbie, one from the 1970s and one from today.
In a 3-5 page essay be sure to describe how Barbie has changed both physically and in her image, occupations, race, ethnicity. Why do you suppose Barbie’s image has been altered? What do you think of the changes? (see Bucher Chapter 7 Conclusions Out-Class for some related questions)
