there 4 questions need to be answered based on articles or books, These are Discussion questions that need to be answered only , don’t write them in essay format please.

1.Aristotle spends a great deal of time delineating the various functions of drama, but the most important part of drama to him is plot. For your first assignment, start by giving a brief summary of Plot as Aristotle sees it in his Poetics. Then, explain how Plot works in a film or television show from the past five years. Tell the reader something about the show, first–what it is, why you find it interesting, etc…. Then, explain whether you think Aristotle would approve of this show or not, given his view of plot. Does the show/film live up to his definition of plot? If your answer is “yes,” think of specific places in the show/film that help to demonstrate specific aspects of plot. If your answer is “no” then think of specific places in the show/film that don’t correspond to Aristotle’s understanding of plot.

these are the sources you need to read in order to answer and discuss above question.(350 words please)

2.For this discussion post, you should simply write three full questions/comments that you have about Oedipus( Oedipus The King, translated by David Green, name of a book). Just make sure you have at least three full sentences and that each is either a fully articulated question or comment about the play.

and answer these question (50 words each)

q1.What was your view or thoughts once you realized who killed the King?

q2. Would you do the same thing that Oedipus did once you found out who the person you killed was and who you were married to?

3. Read Oedipus The King translated by David Green, One of the reasons that Oedipus, The King is such a successful play is that its author, Sophocles, is able to show how clueless Oedipus is about his own fate through the use of irony. For instance, when Oedipus tells the people of Thebes that no one suffers as much as he does, he is saying that because he wants them to know that he really wants to help them but as we know, this statement has a double meaning. Later, he will realize that he indeed suffers more than any of them because of his horrid fate. There are many examples of this kind of irony throughout the play–occasions when Oedipus says something but only later realizes the full meaning of what he’s said. This kind of irony is even called “Sophoclean Irony” by literary critics now because Sophocles perfected it in Oedipus. For this assignment, your task is to find at least three more instances from the play in which Oedipus says something whose meaning is ironic because he doesn’t yet know his own fate. Quote the passages from the play and then after each quote write a brief paragraph explaining why that quote is ironic. Do this three times, once for each of the quotes you’ve found. Use MLA format throughout and write on a Word document. The minimum word length is 350, but that includes the quotation.

4.For this assignment, first give a summary of the things that Aristotle likes about Oedipus, the King. Why is this play the best example of tragedy, according to Aristotle? (Answering this will require you to return to the first two sections of the Poetics) After you’ve done this, proceed to do the same thing with Freud’s writing. What is most important about Oedipus according to Freud?. Next, spend some time discussing the differences between the two thinkers. What is the difference between what Aristotle likes about Oedipus and what Freud likes? Finally, make an argument in favor of one or the other thinkers. Whose interpretation of the play do you like better and why?

(For this assignment, you should include quotes from both authors. Use MLA rules for essay formatting and citation in the case of the quotes. The assignment should be at least 350 words long.)
