Develop evaluation questions, and describe in essay format your process in developing, refining, and prioritizing these questions

Include a summary of your Learning Team’s feedback and input on the evaluation questions

In this week’s Discussion, you developed evaluation questions and elicited feedback from your Walden colleagues to ensure that the questions were appropriate for the professional development program and evaluation. You assessed your Walden colleagues’ evaluation questions by considering questions in Appendix D in your course text, Assessing Impact: Evaluating Staff Development, and using a checklist to ensure that each question was:

reasonable

appropriate

answerable

specific about the measurable or observable dimensions of program success or performance

specific about the measure of program performance.

Based on the feedback and input you received from your Walden colleagues and/or instructor, make any necessary revisions to your questions and add them to the second column of your “Evaluation Plan At-a-Glance.”

Learning Team Activity

For this part of the assignment, you will meet with your Learning Team to share the work you have done on your evaluation plan thus far and to ask for their input and feedback on the evaluation questions you have developed.

Share the following with your team:

Theory of change and logic model for the professional development program

Evaluation Plan At-a-Glance (Columns 1 and 2 only)

Program goals

Program objectives (KASABs for stakeholders, as appropriate—students, teachers, principals, central office, organization, other)

Evaluation questions (including at least one question for each—adult learning, adult implementation, and student learning)

Then, engage in the following activities with the team. (Be sure to record the team’s observations, input, and feedback. In next week’s Application Assignment, you will be required to submit a summary of the feedback).

Elicit the team’s feedback on your theory of change, logic model, and program objectives.

Work together to refine and prioritize your evaluation questions. You should aim to have no more than five priority questions.

Finally, describe in essay format your process in developing, refining, and prioritizing your evaluation questions and include your final questions. Explain the role of your Learning Team’s feedback and input on the development of the evaluation questions.
